KSA Slams Unlicensed Online Betting Operator with Huge Fine
The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the gambling regulator in the Netherlands, has recently taken strong action against an unlicensed operator in the online betting industry. The authority has imposed a hefty fine of EUR 1.2 million on Techno Offshore Limited for offering unlicensed gambling services through its nolimitbet.com and simplecasino.com websites.

According to the KSA, Techno Offshore Limited failed to prevent Dutch players from accessing its platforms and engaged in unlawful practices such as autoplay and turboplay, which are known to encourage excessive spending among vulnerable players. Aside from targeting unlicensed operators, the KSA has intensified its efforts in curbing illegal betting apps available on popular platforms like the PlayStore and AppStore. Despite banning 20 unauthorized apps this year, new ones continue to emerge, posing a challenge to the regulator.
The authority highlighted the deceptive nature of these apps, which often mimic legal providers’ branding and engage in aggressive online promotions. Consumers are urged to report any suspicious apps to the KSA to protect themselves from potential fraud.
Strict Enforcement of Gaming Regulations
In a separate incident, the KSA issued a warning to Hotel Gaming Services BV for violating advertising guidelines by featuring a local ice hockey team in its Circus Gran Casino ads. Dutch operators are prohibited from using celebrities or themes that may appeal to underage audiences in their marketing campaigns.
The regulator also contacted Noord Zuid Alliantie, the operator of Lucky 7 Casino, regarding a customer service violation, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency in the online betting industry.
