According to KTNV, the Athletics have now completed another crucial step towards realizing their project by filing the required land use permit with Clark County. The application included renderings of the ballpark, which is expected to have a seating capacity of 33,000.
The $2 Billion Project
The estimated cost of the project is a staggering $2 billion. The new ballpark will occupy around 9 acres of the total 35-acre site. Additionally, Bally’s Corporation will use 14.7 acres of land on-site for its new luxury hotel and casino resort. The remaining space will be designated for parking, restaurants, bars, and other amenities.
Parking Concerns
One of the concerns surrounding the project is the potential impact on traffic and the availability of parking spaces. According to the county’s regulations, one parking space is required per four seats in the ballpark. This means that more than 7,000 parking spaces would be needed based on the ballpark’s capacity.
However, the recently submitted request includes nearly 2,500 parking spaces, which cover guest and office staff parking. The developers believe this number is adequate, given the proximity of the ballpark to other resorts and transportation options.
Aside from the new ballpark, the project will also see the development of Bally’s hotel and casino resort on the same 35-acre lot. The resort will feature luxurious accommodations, a 90,000 square foot casino, various dining options, and retail outlets. Construction of the resort is expected to align with phase one of the ballpark’s development.
